The San Francisco Giants are reportedly planning to spend big in free agency this winter.
MLB.com, the official website of Major League Baseball, reported on Saturday (Nov. 16), “The Giants are in on everything. They are being linked to Cody Bellinger, Matt Chapman and Blake Snell, and can’t be ruled out of the Shohei Ohtani race.굿모닝토토 도메인
The National League West has been dominated by the Los Angeles Dodgers over the past decade, but San Francisco was once a huge presence. The Giants won the World Series in 2010, 2012, and 2014.
However, they have failed to make the postseason six times in the last seven years. This year, the Dodgers won the division and the Arizona Diamondbacks went all the way to the World Series. San Francisco didn’t even achieve a .500 winning percentage (79 wins and 83 losses). They fell to fourth place in the division, and their pride was shattered.
The Giants declared a comeback.
MLB.com said, “The Giants were never really happy with the fact that they had a mediocre season for the second straight year. They’re going to make a big jump.
MLB Network’s John Heyman wrote, “The Giants are among the top three contenders to sign Bellinger, along with the New York Yankees and Chicago Cubs. The Giants have already met with Chapman. The Giants are also a strong suitor for Snell, along with the San Diego Padres, Dodgers, and Philadelphia Phillies.
In the free agent market, most of the big names in pitching and hitting are considering signing with the Giants.
According to MLB.com, “San Francisco was previously linked to Japanese ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto and South Korean outfielder Lee Jung-hoo. Ohtani can’t be ruled out. The San Francisco Chronicle recently reported that Ohtani is San Francisco’s No. 1 priority.
Of course, it’s impossible for the Giants to sweep them all up. But if Ohtani and Bellinger are added to the mix, an Earthquakes lineup is not out of the question.
