Kim Min-hyuk, who rushed to call an ambulance after a ‘super emergency’ super catch…ended up with a ‘muscle rupture’ and lost his KT leadoff spot

Missing at least 4 weeks, not sure about postseason either

The Wizards have been dealt a blow. Kim Min-hyuk was injured in the top of the ninth inning of a game against Lotte on April 21, when he fell to the ground and called for an ambulance after catching a fly ball from Kim Min-seok.

KT Wiz leadoff man Kim Min-hyuk will miss at least four weeks with a torn left thigh muscle. His participation in the postseason is not guaranteed. KT Wiz is in a tight second-place battle at the end of the season, and Kim’s injury is a big concern.

His injury is even more unfortunate because it wasn’t a game-winning situation and could have been avoided if he had taken care of himself at the time. It happened in a home game against Lotte in the ‘2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League’ at KT Wiz Park in Suwon, Gyeonggi-do on April 21.

In the top of the ninth inning of KT’s 5-0 victory, Lotte’s Kim Min-seok hit a single to right field. KT right fielder Kim Min-hyuk sprinted to catch the ball and made a spectacular sliding catch for the final out. It was a super catch that made everyone in the stadium say ‘wow’.

The game ended with a win for KT. However, Kim Min-hyuk, who had fallen to the ground, raised his hands in the air and urgently asked for help. Song Min-seob and Oh Yoon-seok quickly rushed to the outfield to check on him. Kim was lying on the ground in excruciating pain, his right hand clutching his left thigh. That’s right. His left thigh had hit the ground hard while making a sliding catch. KT coach Lee Kang-cheol and his players looked at the outfield with concern, unable to celebrate the victory.메이저사이트

The pain was so intense that he had to call for an ambulance. Eventually, Kim was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance that made its way to the outfield, where he was diagnosed with a muscle tear in his left thigh.

This season, Kim was having a career-high season, batting .298 with 118 hits, 41 runs, 67 RBIs, 11 doubles, 0.356 OPS, 0.741 WAR, and 1.84 WOBA in 112 games. He was KT’s leadoff hitter, batting first in 278 of their 397 at-bats. But now, at the end of the season, when it mattered most, he was injured in a non-competitive situation. It’s an unfortunate situation for KT.

Kim Min-hyuk’s injury left KT with a weakened lineup. How will his injury affect KT’s standings at the end of the season, and what will happen to their fall baseball?
