Ronaldo, who has forgotten his age, is the first field player to step on the 1,200-game trip notice

I can only say that it is truly remarkable that he has set such a record at an age when he should be retired. It’s a record that shouldn’t be dismissed or disparaged as just a golden tower built with the passage of time. Cristiano Ronaldo (38, Alnasr) is a man whose passion for soccer is second to none.

Ronaldo has reached another milestone. He’s reached an incredible milestone: 1,200 games played. Of course, it’s a first in soccer history. Even if it’s only as a field player.레모나토토

At our age, Ronaldo is on the verge of turning 40. He’s less than two months away from turning 39. Whether you like him or not, you can’t help but applaud him for breaking new ground at such a young age, where no one has ever trodden before.

It’s a record he’s built up over 21 years. That’s close to 60 games a year. It’s a testament to how well he’s maintained his health. With no injuries, it’s clear that he’s been on the field all season.

21 years in the making… GK included, it’s only a matter of time before he breaks the record for most appearances

Ronaldo’s biggest asset is his goal-scoring prowess. Ronaldo has been a dominant force in world soccer, breaking all kinds of records. He has built an unassailable reputation for scoring goals, including the most goals ever scored in an A-match (128). He’s been called one of the “Gods” alongside Lionel Messi (36, Inter Miami CF).

This time around, Ronaldo has entered the world of records, and not just for the number of games played. He became the first player to reach the 1,200-match milestone. It happened on Aug. 8 (local time) against Al Rayad in the 16th round of the Saudi Professional League 2023-2024 season.

In the monumental match, Ronaldo put on a dazzling display (1 goal, 1 assist) to celebrate the milestone. He scored the opening goal to set the stage for the 4-1 victory, and added an assist to cement the victory.

In the 2002-2003 season of the Portuguese Primeira Liga, Ronaldo found a home with Sporting CP and broke into the top flight of the professional world. Since then, he has played for Manchester in the English Premier League (EPL) (2003-2009), Real Madrid in Spanish La Liga (2009-2018), Juventus in Italian Serie A (2018-2021), Manchester United (2021-2022), and now Alnasr (since 2023).

Ronaldo has nearly reached the 1,000-match milestone with his clubs (996 games). Of these, he has played 438 games for Real Madrid. His two-time club Manchester United (346) is next, followed by Juventus (134), Alnasr (46), and Sporting CP (31) (see table).

In terms of appearances for the Portuguese national team, Ronaldo has also left his mark. He has appeared in a total of 205 matches. That’s the most A-match appearances of all time. From his call-up to the national team in 2003 to the ongoing UEFA Euro 2024, he has left his mark.

When you compare Ronaldo’s new milestone of 1,200 appearances as a field player to the chasers, you realize the magnificence of the record. None of them have even reached the 1,100-cap milestone. The second-place finisher, Roberto Carlos (BRA), is still a long way off (1,090), with a gap of 110 games. What’s more, he’s already retired.

If we extend the circle to GKs, there are only three players in soccer history who have reached the 1,200-cap milestone before Ronaldo. Of course, they’re all captains. Jorge Senny (Brazil – 1,225), Peter Shilton (England – 1,217), and Fabio (Brazil – 1,200).

Of these three, Seney and Shilton are already on the other side of the field. Ronaldo is certain to overtake them as early as the 2023-2024 season. His only real competition is Fabio. Still active, Fabio (Fluminense) reached the 1,200-cap milestone one day before Ronaldo. He did so in the final Gremio match of the Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A 2023 season.

Ronaldo is likely to surpass Fabio this year. The Brazilian top flight just wrapped up its 38th round on July 7. As a result, Ronaldo has virtually booked his ticket to the top spot by knocking Fabio down to fourth place in the standings when he takes on Alty Park at home on April 22.

For the foreseeable future, the record for most games played will be a two-horse race between Ronaldo and Fabio. Fabio has the advantage of being a GK. However, his age (43) may be a hindrance to his challenge, and we wonder if Ronaldo, who is still playing at a high level, will be able to overcome his positional disadvantage and reach the top of the list.
