After a close match with South Korea at the FIFA U-17 World Cup Indonesia 2023, France finished as runners-up.

France lost on penalties after a 2-2 draw with Germany in the tournament final at the Manahan Stadium in Surakarta, Indonesia on Sunday (June 2).토토사이트

After conceding two early goals to Germany, France fought back with a late goal from Simone Bouabre. After Germany’s Venus Osabe was sent off for accumulating cautions, the outnumbered French equalized in an all-out attack. Matisse Amougou, who scored the winning goal against South Korea in the group stage, equalized in the 40th minute to make it 2-2.

With the game tied, France went on to lose 3-4 in the ensuing penalty shootout, with three of the six shooters missing.

France, who won their second group game 1-0 against South Korea on March 15, advanced to the round of 16 and defeated Senegal, Uzbekistan, and Mali on their way to the final, but could not get over the final hurdle and had to settle for runner-up.

South Korea were unfortunate not to get past France. After falling behind to a French corner kick in the first two minutes of their group stage match, South Korea dominated play in the final minutes of the first half and pushed for a goal, but were unable to find it and lost 0-1.

South Korea finished the tournament in 20th place out of 24 competitors. The 20th place finish was lower than Burkina Faso (17th), Indonesia (18th), and Panama (19th). Among Asian teams, Uzbekistan fared best, reaching the quarterfinals, while Iran and Japan finished in the round of 16.
